Todd Tweedy

President and COO

Todd is the founder of BoldMouth, a firm he began with the intention of bringing grassroots marketing techniques and practices to social media.

Prior to launching BoldMouth, Todd held a number of senior management positions both on the ad agency and client-side. At a WPP specialized marketing agency, Todd worked on marketing the first-ever disk and web-based online travel planning products for US Airways. In addition to developing grassroots marketing campaigns, he managed national communication outreach efforts during the largest packaged consumer product recall in US history.

As VP of Marketing for a web-based provider of communications tools, he used word of mouth marketing programs to increase product registrations 100x the former run rate. Todd was also CEO for a business Internet infrastructure firm delivering authenticated instant messaging exchanges.

Todd is a member of The Social Media Collective and a member of the Board of Directors for the Viral & Buzz Marketing Association. He served as President and Chairman of the Board for The New Media Society of Washington, DC.

He has blogged for Corante.com, a business strategy and technology application publisher, writing about online search and affiliate marketing related topics. Todd co-chaired conferences for JupiterMedia on enterprise IM. He has spoken at conferences around the world on word-of-mouth, cost effective interactive marketing, search engine marketing, and instant messaging.

Todd is the author the seminal industry study Perceptions, Practices & Ethics in Word-of-Mouth Marketing published in May of 2006. He is currently working on a book project that addresses customer advocacy and unaided referral behavior.
